Friends of Big Bear Valley (FOBBV) is a coalition of local residents and visitors to the Big Bear Valley in Southern California, along with individuals and groups throughout Big Bear Valley, the San Bernardino Mountains and Southern California who have come together to accomplish a mutual goal for the benefit of all concerned. By educating our members and the public about the impact of humans and development on our unique and irreplaceable local environment, we work to preserve the natural environment for future generations.
We work throughout Big Bear Valley to monitor proposed developments and agency actions to keep the public informed and to assure that environmental laws are being followed and enforced.
An Advisory Board of local property owners and representatives from other interested organizations evaluates issues and develops, by consensus, recommendations for actions most appropriate and effective in maintaining the character of Fawnskin, the Big Bear Valley and the surrounding areas. The Committee members consist primarily of professionals from a variety of fields, including specialists in: environmental law, county and local law, air quality, biological resources, and Federal and State environmental processes.
